10 pin Female to Female FRC Cable (13 cm)
A Ribbon cable (also known as multi-wire planar cable) is a cable with many conducting wires running parallel to each other on the same flat plane. As a result the cable is wide and flat. Its name comes from the resemblance of the cable to a piece of ribbon.
Ribbon cables are usually seen for internal peripherals in computers, such as hard drives, CD device and floppy driver. On some older computer systems (such as the BBC Micro and Apple || series) they were used for external connections as well. Unfortunately the ribbon-like shape interferes with computer cooling by disrupting airflow within the case and also makes the cables awkward to handle, especially when there are a lot of them; round cables have almost entirely replaced ribbon cables for external connections and are increasingly being used internally as well.
FRC: The Flat Ribbon Cable Connectors offered by us are basically the Insulation Displacement Connectors.IE offer these connectors in 2, 54 mm, 2.00 mm and 1, 27 mm Pitches. The Female IDC connectors can be sourced from IE as a loose connector. We also support our customers for connectors assembled with IDC Cable. The Harnesses can be customized in different lengths as per your requirement in different options as a Single End, Transfer End or Daisy Chain type.
The mating Connectors are offered in SMT & DIP both version in Straight and Right Angle Terminations. The mating Headers are available with or without Latch options in following pin outs:
10, 14, 16, 20, 26, 30, 34, 40, 50, 60 and 64 pins
The Twisted Pair IDC Cable crimped for selective length options in 10, 16, 20, 26, 34, 40 and 50 pin outs is also available on request
